Ragi Ambil (soup)
Ingredients: (serves 2)
- 1 tablespoon ghee
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- A pinch of asafoetida
- 1 dry red Chilli
- 4-6 curry leaves
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- Rock salt as per taste
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons sifted Ragi flour
- Water
Method:
Step 1:
Mix Ragi flour in buttermilk evenly. Keep aside.
Step 2:
Heat the ghee in a stainless steel pan and add cumin seeds, asafoetida, red Chilli, curry leaves.
Wait till it cracks and splutters and add 2 large cups of water in it. Add salt to taste. Wait for it to boil.
Step 3:
Add the Ragi flour buttermilk mixture to the pan and keep stirring slowly. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Add a little water if required. Add roasted sesame seeds and drink warm.
